I am a local leader with an established record of being invested in our community and supporting non-profits that care for the homeless in Tustin. I care deeply for our residents, including our homeless population. Homelessness continues to become a significant issue for Tustin. The city needs to shift additional resources in this area to address this growing problem. Post Covid-19, the homelessness issue will only get worse. The city can address this issue by working with City Net, non-profits, the County, and shelter resources and encouraging people to turn their lives around—a hand up, not a handout.

The City of Tustin has affordable housing opportunities, and these will increase with the new developments proposed on the base. Currently, there 975 affordable rental units in Tustin and 279 affordable owner-occupied housing units. With more development on the base and mixed-use around the city, these numbers and opportunities will increase.

I support Operation Warm Wishes and the Exchange Club with the Veteran’s Annex, who they partner with to serve homeless veterans get back on their feet with the Orange County Rescue Mission.
